THE FUTURE OF
SCHWEITZER
MOUNTAIN RESORT
We invite
you to stop in our office in the Selkirk Lodge and take a
look at the newly released Resort Master Plan. Let Tom
Fortune walk you through the upcoming neighborhoods and
proposed chairlift plan which he helped create as General
Manager of the Resort.
Schweitzer
Mountain Resort is owned by Harbor Resorts who purchased the
Resort in 1998. Harbor Resorts is a partnership between two
Seattle-based companies. In 1999, a long-term vision was created
for the Schweitzer community, and over the past several years
a comprehensive master plan has been developed. The Ski Operations
team will be focusing on enhancing the on-mountain guest experience
which includes many capital improvements to the mountain such
as: new chair lifts, terrain expansion, and expanded amenities.
With these improvements, the Resort is planning on increasing
skier visits from 225,000 to 300,000 over the next 10 years
along with an ever-expanding summer business.
The Schweitzer
real estate plan anticipates an additional 1,200-1,400 units
to be built over a ten- to fifteen-year period.
